What is a BCBA?

BCBA stands for 'Board Certified Behaviour Analyst'

All BCBAs have a Bachelors degree, a Masters degree and completed coursework specific to ABA, at least 1500 hours of supervised field work experience, and passed a board exam.

BCBAs also are required to complete continuing education credits to maintain their certification every two years.

Anyone conducting ABA should be supervised by a BCBA.

BCBAs are trained to conduct assessments, develop behaviour plans and programme goals, train and oversee direct staff (ABA therapists or tutors) analyse data and make changes.

Only BCBAs are qualified to carry out Functional Assessments
